For over 90 years, United has stood at the forefront of the airline industry as a pioneer in technological and customer innovations. In 1926, they helped launch commercial aviation with the first airmail flight. United was the first to offer a transcontinental passenger service and one of the founding members of the Star Alliance. To this day, United works ceaselessly to better their company - and their planes.
As part of a company-wide rebranding initiative, agency McGarryBowen tasked Dream Space with making a 3D animation highlighting United’s transition to their brand new livery.
To exhibit the iconic planes United has introduced into their fleet throughout the decades, our team thoroughly researched and precisely recreated each plane through 3D modeling, meticulous texturing and lighting, and compositing work.
This completed animation showcases the transition from the humble Ford Trimotor 5-AT-D, which performed the first airmail delivery, to the Boeing 737-800. In one flyby shot, the timeline of historical planes and livery is presented. Rising from the depths to replace the old, a photorealistic 737, displaying the newly unveiled United redesign, takes over the screen. After proudly showcasing its revamped look, it flies off into the unknown.
